The kegerator arrived and even with the poorly written setup instructions, I was able to have it up and running in a short period of time. I picked this particular kegerator based on other Amazon.com positive reviews and the fact that it comes with a 2-gage regulator which I desired for monitoring my CO2 tank pressure. After the kegerator had been running for a few days at its minimum temperature setting, I determined that it would not drop temperature below ~42 degrees (wish I had known that pre-purchase). I contacted the manufacturer of the Frosty Keg Kegerator and received no help in obtaining technical information on the refrigerator thermostat so that I could purchase a replacement with a wider (colder) temperature range. If you're looking for a unit that will allow you to control temperature in the mid to upper 30s or that has a responsive manufacturer, keep looking.
Today I received my new kegerator. The instruction manual is not clear at all, the washer for my CO2 regulator seems to be missing, and there is no CO2 in the tank.
The empty CO2 tank should have been mentioned in the description, so I could have been more prepared, and had it filled prior to buying my keg. So while my icy cold keg is warming up, I have to drive an hour each way to fill my tank.
As I mentioned, the black washer described in my instructions is missing. The DTX International company is closed for the day, (they close at 3:00pm eastern time), so I cannot get any help from them, and Amazon cannot do anything to help either.
In conclusion, I now have to drive an hour back to the keg store, have them fill my CO2 tank, and perhaps with any luck at all they will have the correct washers to assemble the regulator. If not I will have to wait until DTX opens tomorrow, and hopefully ships the washer out, all the while my cold keg of beer is warming.
So far I am NOT happy with this purchase.
UPDATE: I have had my kegerator 1 month now, and feel I should edit this review. I called DTX about the missing black washer, and they said the washer was not black, but one of the three WHITE washers included in the kit. Their instructions were misprinted or the color of the washer had been changed, they were not sure which. The white washer worked, the kegerator assembled and my warm keg installed. While the temp is set to go no lower than 38 F, and I prefer closer to 33, DTX will give you an instruction video to lower the temp a few degrees if you request one. After a month I am happy with my purchase and felt it was time to up my rating from 1 star.
